We are designing a new civic landmark in Newark’s beloved Lincoln Park in partnership with landscape architects WRT and the non-profit Lincoln Park Cultural Coast District.  The mass timber polycentric pavilion reinterprets the traditional bandshell form to create a new year-round cultural and musical nexus for the broader community.

Composed of a series of glulam arches, the Lincoln Park Pavilion will provide an adaptable framework and shelter for a variety of civic uses and performances at different scales and orientations, culminating in the annual Lincoln Park Music Festival – the tri-state region’s largest music festival rooted in the African American and Afro Caribbean diaspora traditions.  The pavilion will provide rain cover and shade for smaller events, or for the stage and back-of-house for larger events such as the yearly festival.
