Mimi co-founded nARCHITECTS with Eric Bunge with a belief in architecture as an agent of positive change that can connect people and environments in unexpected ways. Responding to changes in contemporary life while fostering social engagement guides her work. Born in the tropics of Vietnam and trained in Amsterdam and New York City, she brings a global outlook and an obsession with greenery to the firm’s design culture. Mimi teaches graduate design studios as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and previously taught at Yale University. She received her Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and her Bachelor of Science in Art and Design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Born in Montreal of Argentinian heritage, Eric trained in London, Calcutta, Paris, and Boston before co-founding nARCHITECTS in New York with Mimi Hoang. He has led projects across scales and types, including the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center, the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, the A/D/O Design Center, and the groundbreaking micro-unit building Carmel Place. An Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University GSAPP, Eric has also taught at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Parsons School of Design, the Rhode Island School of Design, the Université de Montréal, the University of Toronto, and Yale University. He received his Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and his Bachelor of Architecture from McGill University.

Amanda Morgan, AIA

Amanda is an experienced architect with a background in architecture, interior design and psychology. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing our focus on socially and environmentally sustainable public projects that positively transform communities. As Principal, Amanda’s oversees projects with complex parameters and client and regulatory agency approvals processes, including the Made in NY Campus, NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center and A/D/O. Born and raised in Idaho, she brings her love of openness even to the most constrained project site. Amanda received her Master in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Idaho.

Adina Bauman, RA

Adina grew up outside New York City.  Her mother’s professional art practice and father’s real estate career, combined with her obsession with drawing, influenced Adina to pursue the field of architecture. Adina earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Washington University in St Louis and her Masters in Architecture from Columbia GSAPP. Adina sees design as a powerful tool to improve peoples’ lives and is an advocate for equity in housing and public space. She is inspired to find ways that building technology can adapt to provide solutions to climate change. When she’s not focused on these critical issues, Adina enjoys baking, listening to podcasts, and watching films.

A native Texan, Amelia has lived in small towns with miles of open land and dense cities like Austin, Kuala Lumpur, and New York City. She is fascinated by hand-drawing and math seeing each as a puzzle to be solved. Amelia’s design is informed by those fascinations, how artistic nuance and mathematical logic can create equitable and sustainable architecture. Amelia earned her Bachelor of Architecture and her Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Raised in a building industry-oriented family, Dave discussed construction issues over breakfast with his contractor dad. Dave brings his expertise in leading over twenty projects from design through construction administration and in developing creative, adaptable solutions to complex problems. He received his Master in Architecture from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami.

During her education, Fatemeh spent plenty of time measuring and documenting old, abandoned buildings and informal urban settings. This has led her to draw inspiration from non-architecture and non-place, aspiring for efficiency and affordability. Fatemeh is from Tehran, Iran, and she earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Kashan University and her Masters in Architecture at Washington University.

Yun brings experience in mixed-use, adaptive reuse, and public design, and she believes that promoting the reuse of materials through architectural design and alternative construction methods can facilitate a longer life span of those materials. Yun received her Masters in Architecture at Rice University and her Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Minnesota. She enjoys traveling and experiencing life around her through water-coloring.
