Mimi co-founded nARCHITECTS with Eric Bunge with a belief in architecture as an agent of positive change, responding to and connecting people with the environment in unexpected ways. Responding to our world in flux while fostering social engagement guides her work. Born in the tropics of Vietnam and trained in Amsterdam and New York City, she brings a global outlook and an obsession with greenery to the firm’s design culture. Mimi teaches graduate design studios as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and previously taught at Yale University. She received her Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and her Bachelor of Science in Art and Design from M.I.T.

Born in Montreal of Argentinian heritage, Eric trained in London, Calcutta, Paris and Boston before co-founding nARCHITECTS in New York with Mimi Hoang. He cultivates an inquisitive and playful approach to architecture, connecting buildings with public space, and people with a changing world. Eric is currently leading the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center, and recently completed the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center, A/D/O and Carmel Place. An Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University GSAPP, Eric has also taught at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Parsons School of Design, RISD, Universite de Montreal, University of Toronto, and Yale University.  He received his Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and his Bachelor of Architecture from McGill University.

Amanda Morgan, AIA
Principal

Principal

Amanda is an experienced architect with a background in architecture, interior design and psychology. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing our focus on socially and environmentally sustainable public projects that positively transform communities. As Principal, Amanda’s oversees projects with complex parameters and client and regulatory agency approvals processes, including the Made in NY Campus, NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center and A/D/O. Born and raised in Idaho, she brings her love of openness even to the most constrained project site. Amanda received her Master in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Idaho.

Adina Bauman
Designer

Designer

Adina grew up outside New York City.  Her mother’s professional art practice and father’s real estate career, combined with her obsession with drawing, influenced Adina to pursue the field of architecture. Adina earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Washington University in St Louis and her Masters in Architecture from Columbia GSAPP. Adina sees design as a powerful tool to improve peoples’ lives and is an advocate for equity in housing and public space. She is inspired to find ways that building technology can adapt to provide solutions to climate change. When she’s not focused on these critical issues, Adina enjoys baking, listening to podcasts, and watching films.

Dave Chessrown

Raised in a building industry-oriented family, Dave discussed construction issues over breakfast with his contractor dad. Dave brings his expertise in leading over twenty projects from design through construction administration and in developing creative, adaptable solutions to complex problems. He received his Master in Architecture from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami.

Associate

His passion for drawing informs his work at nARCHITECTS as well as his personal art practice, which explores intersections between a range of media including sculpture, drawing and writing. Paul earned his Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Hong Kong and his Masters in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Isa brings her rigorous training from Europe to the practice. She is guided by her passion for housing and the capacity for buildings to reframe our surroundings in positive ways and foster interaction between people. Isa received her Bachelor and Master in Architecture from the University of Zaragoza (EINA).
